Here you will find links to make your life easier while travelling in Romania. Though some sites are specific to Cluj, I have also provided links to sites that deal more broadly with Romania.

Currency Exchange Rates- This page will allow you to convert old and new Romanian lei to any currency in the world.

Cluj4All- This site has a very nice digital map of Cluj. The rest of it can be quite difficult to navigate, but it is worth it just for the map.

Retro Youth Hostel- This is the site of the best hostel in Cluj. Information on small tours to the environs as well.

Red Bus Hostel- If you need a break after flying into Budapest, this is a fine hostel to spend the night in.

Romanian Newspapers- Some of these newspapers have English language versions. If you are studying the Romanian language, you might use these to practice your comprehension skills.

Electrical Converters- This is a direct link to a site that sells the electrical converter you will need to make your appliances work in Romania. I've used their products and vouch for them.

Babes-Bolyai University- The leading university in Cluj. They offer a summer language program in July.

Across the Forest- This is the website for the documentary I made in Transilvania. I went out into the countryside and interviewed villagers about their beliefs in strigoi (vampire-phantoms), varcolaci (werecreatures), and mama and fata padurii (forest spirits).
